Viejas, you surely know that this year is the 250 years celebration of Jane Austin's birth. It is also the 20 year anniversary of Joe Wright's movie adaptation of Pride and Prejudice.
These viejas are definitely fans and we are so lucky to have Adrian, a son and nephew who is as much of a fan of Jane Austin, as we are. So, we set out to be part of the celebration. We visited the UK and drove, on the wrong side of the road and through the pouring rain to see it all! And we did; we saw the bridges, the temple, the mansions, the village, the sheep, the cows, the sculptures, the gardens, the cliff, the movie.
We wore the dresses, the jackets, the shirts, the shoes, the ribbons, the sachets. We paired them with contemporary garments to make some of the outfits feel Regency-now.

We even tried the hats but those were not for us!
We walked; 'cause we are "fond of walking". We danced with a lot of strangers because you know that "no one can be introduced in a ballroom". We met kindred spirits and made fast friends because like our mom used to say: burros del mismo pelo se saludan. Meaning people who have affinities always find each other.
Viejas, we were gods and "goddesses divine; completely, perfectly, and incandescently happy".
