Corina – Trench coats as well as raincoats come in all shapes, sizes, colors and lengths. Is there a difference between the two? They are both designed to offer protection from the elements. The trench in a more stylish version, which can be worn in any kind of weather. The raincoat is more practical, and only worn it when it rains. Although originally worn by British soldiers in WWI these coats have been part of our popular culture for decades. Think- Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca and Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast in Tiffany’s or the villain Carmen San Diego and Nick Fury in the Avengers. I have not updated my coats recently. The ones I have are several years old, but I still wear them since they are classic styles. A single-breasted black trench coat with a liner for winter, a double-breasted red for the spring and my favorite a trench style jacket. Let me not forget my one and only raincoat, which is probably too long for me. However, I love the fact that it covers my entire outfit, and it has a hood, so it really protects me from the rain. I am honestly not searching for a new trench, but if I happen to come across a newer version in bright green, I might have to buy it!

My trench coat is not in classic beige, but deep navy blue. This Trench coat is magical. It has the power to elevate any outfit. I wear it with jeans and flats or palazzo pants and heels. It goes to the supermarket and to the office. It is really a utility garment. As for my rain coat, well; it is also blue and it is perfect for everyday spring showers.
